ABOUT

About Engaging Minds

Engaging Minds is an Erasmus+ project focused on strengthening student engagement in European secondary education. Our goal is to understand the drivers behind disengagement and early school leaving – and to co-create actionable solutions that support teachers and students in everyday practice.

The project is coordinated by Campus Vejle (Denmark) in partnership with:

Learnovate Centre (Ireland)

University of Gävle / Högskolan i Gävle (Sweden)

Tampere University (Finland)

Together, we bring research, innovation, and classroom experience into a unified effort to improve student well-being and learning outcomes.

Target Groups

  • Teachers and school leaders
  • Student support staff
  • Teacher training institutions
  • Policy makers
  • Students themselves

Objectives

  • Investigate why students disengage – Through interviews, surveys, and school-based research across partner institutions.
  • Identify best practices that support motivation, belonging, and persistence in school.
  • Create practical tools for educators – including guidelines, training sessions, and classroom-ready resources.
  • Strengthen European collaboration by sharing methods and experiences across national contexts.
