The Practical Teacher Resources complement the Engaging Minds Handbook with evidence-based activities and examples from Denmark, Finland, Ireland, and Sweden. They offer practical ideas to boost student engagement, wellbeing, positive relationships, and reduce disengagement.
Digital Engagement Toolkit
An interactive, gamified online tool that helps students set goals, track progress, and stay motivated — with teacher features for creating personalised learning activities.
Pilot Study Across Europe
Real-world testing of the toolkit in eight schools in Denmark, Finland, Sweden, and Ireland, collecting feedback from students and teachers to refine the solution.
Engaging Minds Handbook
The Engaging Minds Handbook brings together the project’s research and key findings on student engagement and retention. It explores the factors that influence students’ experiences in education and highlights approaches that can help schools create supportive, inclusive learning environments where students feel connected, valued and able to participate.
The Handbook provides the research-based foundation for the project’s practical resources and is intended for teachers, school leaders, support staff and others working to strengthen student engagement and prevent early school leaving.
The Engaging Minds Handbook is now available in all four project languages: English, Danish, Swedish and Finnish.
Practical Teacher Resources
The Engaging Minds Practical Teacher Resources turn the project’s research findings into concrete tools and activities for use in schools.
The resource offers practical examples that teachers, support staff and school leaders can adapt to their own contexts. It focuses on strengthening the factors that help students stay engaged in education, including positive relationships, belonging, participation, wellbeing and timely support. It also includes examples of whole-school approaches to supporting engagement and retention.
The Practical Teacher Resources are available in English, Danish, Swedish and Finnish.
Evaluation Report
A comprehensive analysis of the pilot results, including recommendations for schools and policymakers on improving student engagement and reducing dropout.
Online Knowledge Platform
A long-term digital hub hosting all project resources: the handbook, toolkit, case studies, research summaries, and implementation guides.
Dissemination & Sustainability Plan
A structured strategy to share the project’s findings across Europe and ensure the tools remain available and useful after the project ends.
