New Videos: Teachers Share Their Perspectives on the Engaging Minds Handbook

We are pleased to share a new series of videos from our Engaging Minds Handbook piloting sessions, offering valuable insights from teachers working directly with student engagement and retention.

As part of Work Package 2 (WP2), the Engaging Minds Handbook was piloted with teachers to gather feedback on its content, relevance and practical usefulness in everyday teaching.

During the sessions, teachers reflected on the handbook’s findings and recommendations, drawing on their own classroom experiences. The discussions explored the challenges of keeping students engaged, the importance of positive teacher-student relationships, and how schools can better support students at risk of disengagement.

Bringing research and classroom practice together

The piloting sessions provided an opportunity to connect the project’s research findings with the experiences of educators. By inviting teachers to critically reflect on the handbook, the project aims to ensure that its resources are not only research-based but also relevant and useful in real educational settings.

The newly published videos offer a glimpse into these discussions and highlight the importance of involving teachers in developing practical approaches to student engagement and retention.
