We are excited to announce that the Practical Teacher Resources for Supporting Student Engagement & Retention is now available to download from our website.

Developed as a companion to the Engaging Minds Handbook, this new resource translates research into practice by providing teachers, school leaders, and other educational professionals with practical, evidence-based activities and approaches to strengthen student engagement and reduce the risk of disengagement.

Drawing on successful practices from Denmark, Finland, Ireland, and Sweden, the resource includes classroom activities, mentoring approaches, wellbeing initiatives, and whole-school strategies that can be adapted to different educational settings. The activities are organised around the eight protective factors identified through the Engaging Minds research, making it easy for educators to find ideas that match the needs of their students.

The Practical Teacher Resources demonstrate that improving student engagement does not depend on a single initiative. Rather, it is achieved through strong relationships, supportive learning environments, meaningful participation, and coordinated school practices that help every student feel connected, valued, and supported.
